o   Access the criteria for submission in the various categories, and the awards submission form, through the MHSRS homepage: https://mhsrs.amedd.army.mil/

o   The award criteria specifically: https://mhsrs.amedd.army.mil/SitePages/Awards-Description.aspx

o   Submitters MUST ensure their award narrative fits the award criteria in the category selected. The Award Review Committee compares the narrative against the criteria. In past years, failure to meet that category’s criteria has eliminated some well written packages from award contention.

Navy Medical Leadership Message on Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR)

Posted on Updated on

Esteemed Shipmates,

We are the world’s preeminent fighting force because we care for our people.

Our values of honor, courage, and commitment are the lifeblood of our service.  Every act of sexual harassment or assault directly undermines those values – and hurts military readiness.  All Navy Medicine Sailors and civilians must be responsible for demonstrating professional and ethical behavior in all settings and at all times – whether on duty, at home, or online.

We must do all we can to counter the scourge of sexual assault and sexual harassment.  Anyone who encounters or witnesses offensive behaviors has a duty to speak up, intervene, and report it swiftly to the appropriate points of contact.  If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual harassment or sexual assault, call the DoD Safe Helpline.  Services are available 24/7 by phone at 1-877-995-5247 or by text at 55-247 if CONUS or 571-470-5546 if OCONUS, or online https://www.safehelpline.org.

Navy Medicine strives to create and maintain a work environment where everyone is treated with dignity, decency, and respect.  This is fundamental to operating as a highly cohesive team providing outstanding care to our warfighters and their families.  To learn more, click on the link below to watch a message from Rear Admiral Shaffer and me.

FY23 Command and Milestone Application Process

Posted on Updated on

Below is the info from the Corps Chief’s Office, but don’t forget about my post about how to match in Executive Medicine as another resource:

The deadline for applications is 15 JUN 2022:

  • The updated command/executive medicine instruction, milestone note, application forms, and FY23 opportunities lists are below.
  • New this year – applications will be uploaded to PERS via the Executive Medicine SharePoint site.  This is for both first time applicants and “banked officers.”  The deadline is 15 JUN 2022 for everyone.
  • Any questions regarding eligibility should be directed to your respective Detailer or Deputy Corps Chief.
  • There will likely be updates to the opportunities lists.  If you see something you don’t think is correct, please let you Deputy know so that they can address it.
  • If you haven’t been previously screened, you need to make sure your officer record is up to date.  If you need guidance updating your record for the screening board, go here.

Upload applications and find more information on the process here:
