Free Study of Coaching Program for Parents Concerned About Their Children’s Weight – Deadline 18 SEPT

Posted on Updated on

Very rarely I ask for a favor…consider enrolling in or advertising my wife’s IRB approved study. She gets no money for this and it is completely free due to grant funding. Here are the details straight from the OG CAPT Schofer:

It’s the final days for enrollment in a novel research study for parents who are worried about their kids’ weight.

The grant-funded randomized, controlled study will welcome 60 families to participate in the Family in Focus health coaching program as its effectiveness at improving parental psychological metrics such as self-efficacy, eating competence, body image, self-compassion and self-stigma for child weight, all of which predict child and family health. Parents participate free of charge in the full 8-week virtual group coaching program.

Please see the flyer for eligibility and enrollment steps. Randomization is occurring this week for the final groups – don’t delay!

Executive Medicine AQD – Talking Points and Changes

Posted on Updated on

The Corps Chief’s Office has providing talking points created by all the Corps related to changes for the 67A AQD executive medicine qualification. These changes are based on the cancellation of courses (clinic management, Tricare financial management executive program, and clinical informatics course) and the original intent of this congressional mandate for COs and XOs to have this AQD. This AQD update will be placed in the upcoming FY24 Course Catalog. Please use this when discussing with your community.

The email (usn.bethesda.navmedprodevctrmd.list.nmpdc-jmesp@health.mil) in the attached document is currently not working but Mr. Garrett’s team is working to ensure that it will be functional. In the short term, if any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Clinton A. Garrett (e-mail in the global).
