How to Request a Letter to the Promotion Board From the Medical Corps Chief
Packages will be submitted to the Corps Chief’s Office from the CMO/TYCOM/Fleet Surgeon with the officer’s CO endorsement to the MC Career Planner (CAPT Shauna O’Sullivan, contact in the global) with the Deputy Corps Chief (Captain Terri Allen, contact in the global) CC’ed for awareness. The due date for the FY25 O6 Board is 1 DEC 2023.
In-Person Medical Corps Chief Call at NMC Portsmouth – 18 Oct 2023
RDML Valdes is coming to NMCP to deliver a Corps Chief’s Call with all local MC officers who are able to attend. He is going to have 2 sessions in the NMCP Auditorium on 18 OCT, one at 1200-1300 and one at 1500-1600.

The Medical Corps office has launched a retention and exit survey. We want to hear from all MC officers to determine principal factors driving retention, both positively and negatively. Kindly request your advocacy in reaching out to your brethren Medical Officers.
Our goal response rate is 50% (1757 completed responses).

Our Medical Corps Chief’s office wants to know what affects you the most, so we can bring about meaningful and impactful change for our organization. We urge you to let us know what retention and exit factors are crucial to you. To this end, we have created a simple and straightforward Medical Corps Retention and Exit Survey. Your answers will enable senior leadership to directly influence your quality of life and sense of value. Virtual Medical Corps Chief’s Call – Save the Dates!
We are starting Virtual Corps Chief Calls via MHS Teams with Admiral Valdes. This will be done quarterly with two sessions over two days to ensure we get as many MC officers as possible. Admiral Valdes and the Corps Chief Office will provide MC updates and be available for Q+A.

MC Retention and Exit Survey
Senior leadership knows there have been a lot of organizational changes causing stressors to you as a physician. Many issues directly impact the Medical Corps and our manning. The Medical Corps Chief’s Office needs to hear what affects you most to help influence meaningful and impactful change for our organization. Please tell us what particular retention and exit factors are essential to you. We have developed a no-nonsense Medical Corps Retention and Exit Survey. It has specific MC retention, exit, and burnout questions. Your answers will provide us with what levers senior leadership can pull to directly impact your quality of life and sense of value. It is not a time-intensive survey. Your candid responses will impact our Corps for the better.
