Straight through opportunities are seeming very competitive, can you pretty much expect a gmo if you don’t match straight through?

Probably but it is not 100%. You can apply as an intern and try to get a residency spot. If you are open to RAD to NADDS you could have a chance.

    Sir,

Is there anyway to discuss the military match with you via email?

Would you be able to offer any clarity on what would happen if a student who was selected for NADDS failed to match or SOAP into the civilian match? Would they still have a TY available for them in the military?

No, the military fills all of its spots. The person would normally get a 1 year civilian deferment and would have to scramble for an civilian internship.

It looks like for all specialties where RAD->NADDS is an option, the number of positions allowed for NADDS varies from year to year and is not necessarily predictable. Does anyone know in the past several years, how many NADDS positions were available for neurology in particular?

RAD to NADDS and NADDS are two different things. NADDS is for medical students, and RAD to NADDS is for people who are already on active duty. Which are you asking about?

Sir, I am a medical student, however I am interested in past numbers for both 4th year med students applying for NADDS for neurology, as well as PGY1s applying for RAD to NADDS for neurology. With the understanding that these numbers change and are not predictable, I just wanted to get a sense of just how different those numbers are from year to year, and compare that to the number of people applying, if possible. Thank you.
