Assistant Dean for Clinical Services, Uniformed Services University – June 2024

USU, Assistant Dean for Clinical Services – The president requests qualified candidates for the Assistant Dean for Clinical Services. Candidates must be in the grade of 05 (promotable) or 0-6 select. Candidates have character traits to represent the University within the DoD, the federal government and within the medical clinical education community.  The candidate will serve as a role-model of a career-oriented military health professional and has prior academic experience (eligible for a faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or above). The candidate has demonstrated the ability to successfully lead in complex military environments (ideally including at least one deployment). The desired report date is NLT than 1 Jun 2024.

Nomination Package Requirements: Academic CV, Bio, and a Letter of Intent. The letter of intent should include a summary of military and civilian education, assignment history and the names with contact information of three references.   The letter of intent must include the candidate’s commitment to USU for a minimum of three years (ideally five years) and that, if selected, they will accept the job.

National Disaster Medical System Pilot Program Director at USUHS – CAPT/CAPT(s)

National Disaster Medical System Pilot Program Director, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences – President, Uniformed Services University requests Service nominations to fill this full-time position within the National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. The scope of duties requires an O-6 or 06 select officer with the background, experience, and character traits to credibly represent USU within the DoD, the Federal government, the academic community, and private-sector healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to lead successfully within the complex military environment with headquarters (e.g., Agency, Service, COCOM) experience, leading enterprise-wide programs, policy, and initiatives with a track record of successful collaboration across inter-Service and/or Federal interagency programs. Applicants need to be subject matter experts in relevant professional areas, including Emergency Management, Disaster Response, Medical Surge, Healthcare Systems, and Public Health Emergencies. The assignment is 36 months long, and the desired report date is Apr-Jun 2023. Please see attached job description.

BUSHMASTER 2023 – Save the Date

Good morning everyone,

As we start the new year, I want to share the 2023 Bushmaster dates with you for long range planning. Reminder – travel is on the day prior to starting and is funded by USU. I will send out a call for volunteers in late Spring and ask you to submit your availability on a Google Form.
