I have a retirement question few seem to feel confident about. Are years at the academy or in NROTC added to your years of service at retirement? I have heard that for a NROTC grad, if you retire at 20 years of active duty service your calculation for retirement is 2.5% X 24 X ave monthly base pay. Do you know if that is correct?
Thank you.

I believe that years at a service academy are added, but not ROTC. You might a definitive answer here:

But if I was you I’d call NPC at 1-866-U-ASK-NPC and ask for PERS-835 (Officer Retirements). They are the definitive source of retirement info.
