Mark your calendars for Lifestyle Medicine (LM) Week from 21-26 May 2023. LM Weekis a global celebration of healthy behaviors and a public awareness campaign that focuses on the six pillars and the impact our choices can have on chronic disease. Each day will focus on a certain pillar, offering a framework for people to understand healthy living practices and take steps to better their own health.

May 21:  Day 1- Stress Management

May 22:  Day 2- Physical Activity

May 23:  Day 3- Nutrition

May 24:  Day 4- Avoid Risky Behavior

May 25:  Day 5- Social Connection

May 26:  Day 6- Sleep

Please share and ensure wide dissemination of attached education and resources with the military and civilian population. We hope you will join us in celebrating! Channeling the Warrior Within – Leadership Pocket Talks

The Channeling the Warrior Within resource promotes resiliency and toughness among the female service member population and prompts users to engage in self-reflection activities to manage emotions, effectively lead, and overcome challenges. The resource includes podcasts, inspirational lectures, and other media resources on building mental strength, dealing with adversity, and developing grit. Further, exercises and strategies are included to support service members’ ability to apply the Warrior Mindset. The Navy Medicine Female Force Readiness Clinical Community put this resource together.

The Air Force Lifestyle & Performance Working Group is looking to amplify their voice and broaden their influence across the MHS in partnership with other like-minded medical professionals across all Services.  The group consists of medical professionals (independent licensed practitioners and allied health professionals) with a goal to deliver care focused on enhancing the health and wellness of the population we serve using evidence-based lifestyle medicine principles.  More importantly, this has direct application to developing a medically ready force and there is a vision to infuse these principles as part of the Joint Total Force Fitness initiative.
