USU Partners with Navy Medicine to Modernize Hospital Corpsman Training and Expand Educational Opportunities
BLUF – The Uniformed Services University is partnering with Navy Medicine to modernize Hospital Corpsman Basic training by awarding transferable college credits toward associate and bachelor’s degrees, aligning instruction with national EMT certifications, and establishing new EMT-Basic and Paramedic Navy Enlisted Classifications. For Navy Medicine, the initiative strengthens trauma care, expeditionary medical readiness and joint interoperability while providing corpsmen with recognized academic credentials and expanded career opportunities, particularly as they prepare for independent clinical decision-making in austere environments and support En-Route Care and Expeditionary Resuscitative Surgical Systems.
