BLUF – The President’s Military Spouse Commission held its inaugural meeting to address persistent family challenges including spouse employment, healthcare access, childcare, housing and military-to-civilian transition, while highlighting early policy actions involving improved DoD-to-VA records transfers, childcare assistance and professional-license barriers. Military Times For Navy Medicine, healthcare emerged as a major concern, with spouses reporting problems with continuity of care after PCS moves, appointment wait times, mental health and specialty care, fertility treatment and care for children with complex medical needs—issues the commission is pressing DHA to address.
