San Antonio poised to land 960 Defense Health Agency jobs at JBSA, but HQ move uncertain
BLUF – San Antonio is poised to gain as many as 960 Defense Health Agency jobs at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, with 560 employees expected to move from Washington, D.C., and another 400 from Colorado, although a proposed relocation of DHA’s entire headquarters from Northern Virginia remains uncertain. For Navy Medicine, the move would further concentrate military health expertise in San Antonio—already home to more than 3,000 DHA employees, Brooke Army Medical Center and other major medical capabilities—and could reshape where key administrative, logistics, contracting and information-technology functions supporting the Military Health System are based.
