How to Read Your Performance Summary Report (PSR)
One of the most important documents viewed during promotion boards is your Performance Summary Report or PSR. It is the document that summarizes all of your FITREPs for the board, and it can be difficult to interpret. I created a screencast that will show you how to read your PSR. The video explaining the PSR was outstanding! I recently assumed ESO duties, and I want to assist my reserve Sailors. I noticed that one Sailor transferred to my unit, but we discovered that something happened and the previous unit did not ensure his PSR was in BOL. We all hear the saying that ultimately it is the responsibility of the member to manage his or her career and service record. What may have happened that caused this event to occur? I did reach out to the Sailor’s previous unit’s leadership, and they say that they are addressing it. What must I do to ensure that this unfortunate circumstance does not befall my Sailors? Taking care of those who take care of me…I look forward to a response.

HM1, honestly, I’m not sure I can help. I’m largely focused on the active duty officer side of the house, and you’re asking about the reserve side. I just don’t want to steer you wrong, and what you’re describing doesn’t happen on active duty.
