Military Medical Ambassador Program
Help Recruit and Retain Navy Medicine Shipmates!
Navy Medicine is excited to announce the establishment of the Military Medical Ambassador Program (MMA), an initiative in alliance with Rear Admiral Via’s Line of Effort #4: “Recruit and Retain Navy Medicine Shipmates.” Our mission is to cultivate a positive perception of Navy Medicine and build a pipeline of dedicated healthcare professionals by showcasing unparalleled career opportunities, personal growth, and global impact.
We are facing challenges in recruiting and retaining skilled, dedicated shipmates, and we believe connecting directly with people about our experiences is vital.
What is the Military Medical Ambassador Program?
The MMA program will train and develop individuals from each Corps to be outreach-savvy ambassadors with a comprehensive understanding of all Corps and recruiting protocols. These Ambassadors will represent Navy Medicine at professional conferences, Navy Weeks, and other outreach events. Ambassadors will have the option to participate in events that are geographically practical given their current duty station and with the support of their Chain of Command. This program is designed for long-term sustainability. Ambassadors will receive an appointment letter and will hold their positions as long as they remain interested and engaged. Initial training and refresher training as necessary will be virtual.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking confident, positive, and enthusiastic individuals who can operate autonomously while understanding the importance of guidance from Public Affairs Officers (PAOs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other site-specific leadership.
General expectations for Ambassadors include:
- Cultivating Centers of Influence (COI): Building relationships with key individuals and organizations.
- Active Participation in Data Collection and Feedback Loops: Helping us understand what is working and how to improve.
- Digital Content Contributions: Sharing your Navy Medicine story in established forums.
Future roles for Ambassadors may include mentorship pairing and program interviews.
Nominate Your Best!
We ask that you look within your communities and nominate your most exceptional shipmates for this vital program. Nominees should be prepared to submit a Letter of Intent and a bio. We are seeking 1-2 nominees per specialty.
Please submit your nominations by 23 JUL 2025.
