Rear Adm. (lower half) Matthew Case will be assigned as deputy to the assistant director for Health Care Administration, Defense Health Agency, with additional duties as chief of Medical Service Corps, Falls Church, Virginia. Case is currently serving as commander, Naval Medical Forces Atlantic, with additional duties as director, Tidewater Market; and chief of Medical Service Corps, Portsmouth, Virginia.
JMESI – VIRTUAL INTERMEDIATE EXECUTIVE SKILLS COURSE (IESC) – Jun 10-13, 2024
JOINT MEDICAL EXECUTIVE SKILLS INSTITUTE | INTERMEDIATE EXECUTIVE SKILLS COURSE (IESC) – June 10-13, 2024 (VIRTUAL) IS NOW OPEN FOR REGISTRATION.
Who: O3(LT)/O4 (LCDR) MHS personnel serving in an intermediate-level leadership position within a DHA MTF
What: JMESIIntermediate Executive Skills Course (IESC)
When: June 10-13, 2024 (VIRTUAL) from 0700-1600 CST.
Where: JKO online modules and virtual platform learning with instructors located at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, Texas
How: Self-registration process in JKO.
Course Description: The Joint Medical Executive Skills Institute Intermediate Executive Skills Course (JMESI-IES) provides education and training on leadership and management skills necessary to successfully serve in an intermediate-level leadership position within a DHA medical treatment facility (MTF). This is a Tri-Service course. The course is designed to facilitate the attainment of selected Joint Medical Executive Skills core competencies as identified by a Tri-Service review board of MHS senior leaders. The course consists of web-based training (WBT) modules (phase 1) available through Joint Knowledge Online (https://jkodirect.jten.mil), followed by a 4-day live (phase 2), web-based video conference course hosted on MS Teams.
Course Registration: To register for this course, individuals must enroll in and complete the prerequisite JMESI-IES Course Phase 1 curriculum located on Joint Knowledge Online. Once individuals have completed the prerequisites, they will be able to register for the Intermediate Executive Skills Course (JMESI – US400) in JKO. Registration for the IES class will be closed when max capacity is reached or 2 weeks before course start date. Individuals who do not complete the prerequisite materials and register for the course before it closes will need to wait until the next iteration. Registration for each iteration is opened 90 days prior to the course start date. Course registration is capped at 300 attendees.
Phase 1 Prerequisites: (12 DL courses, each of the 12 courses takes about an 1hr to complete.).
To register for those courses sign into JKO, https://jko.jten.mil/dha
· Select the “Course Catalog” tab.
· Type the acronym “JMESI” in the Course or Curriculum Name search box.
· Scroll down to bottom of the page to see curricula search box.
· In the Curricula results box locate “JMESI – Intermediate Executive Skills (IES) Course (Phase 1) – Distance Learning” and click “Enroll”.
· Click “Acknowledge” in the pop-up box.
· You will receive an Enrollment Notification – Course Welcome email from the JKO LCMS with instructions. You may then begin completing the 12 required JMESI modules for your course.
Phase 2: Once the 12 courses in Phase 1 are completed, individuals will be eligible to enroll in JMESI IES course by searching for course number US400, Course Name: JMESI – DHA Intermediate Executive Skills Course. If they have not completed Phase 1, they will be redirected to the DL courses needed before they can enroll in US400.
Other: MUST complete the pre-course prior to the course commencing. Nominees MUST be in a “virtual TAD” status and exempt from other duties for the course.
