After Epic Fury, Navy may need an extra $8 billion to be solvent, CNO says
BLUF – Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle says the Navy needs an additional $6–8 billion in FY26 to cover the costs of combat operations against Iran, personnel expenses and replenishing depleted munitions while avoiding cuts to priorities such as barracks, housing and other readiness investments. For Navy Medicine, the broader funding pressure could affect facilities and other readiness resources while reinforcing the need to ensure medical capabilities are adequately funded for sustained, high-tempo combat operations.
