FY24 Special Pays Plan Released

Posted on

All of the new guidance can be found on the special pays page. Here is the update they posted that tells about the new increased Board Certification Pay:

17 Oct 2023:  The FY24 NAVADMIN and Pay Guidance has been released, and requests effective as far back as 1 Oct 23 have 30 days (15 Nov 23) to be submitted, and not required to be retroactive.  There are significant changes in the Pay Guidance for each Corps, which are highlighted in yellow, and there is a power point on the webpage with the changes as well.

For the BCP change a member who is receiving BCP prior to 1 Oct 23, needs to submit a new request for the BCP change effective 1 Oct 23, if eligible, and agree to remain on active duty for one year from the effective date of the BCP to receive it, and if board certified prior to 1 Oct 23, and not receiving BCP, must submit two requests for each rate of BCP.

Any questions please direct them to your command Human Resources Department/Administrative Office, who should contact BUMED at the below email address.

Another year without significant changes. Hard to believe they are retaining any physicians at this point.

Another year, another effective decrease in pay. I know, I know… incentive pay is not designed to keep up with inflation. But really we are not asking for much. Only to adjust for inflation, especially in times of high inflation while many of us are asked to live in high cost of living areas. In addition to the decreased (and sometimes abysmal) ancillary support in our hospitals, we now face declining pay. What else are we supposed to do other than vote with our feet?

Why ask us to fill out retention surveys?

Why aren’t you retaining doctors? Rolling out a bonus of $166.67 per month pretax.

When other organizations want to retain people their pay scale reflects that commitment.

Another change that the EMPLOYEE has to activate?! Get real Navy….we shouldn’t have to read about pay changes on a blog post.
Nor should we have to beg through our chain of command for an approved pay raise. This is a joke.
