Free CME from American College of Lifestyle Medicine

Exciting news that is hot off the press—the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) has granted healthcare professionals within the Department of Defense (DoD) complementary access to their online 5.5 continuing education credit Lifestyle Medicine & Food as Medicine Essentials Course Bundle!! This includes the 1-hr Introduction to Lifestyle Medicine module and the 4.5-hr Food As Medicine modules. It is available to all DoD healthcare professionals in need of continuing education credits. Please share broadly with your DoD healthcare professionals that are associated with military facilities. This will be available until all the complementary licenses are redeemed.

Then review the course information and register at no charge by clicking the “Register Now” button.

Medical Corps CME/MOC Funding – End of FY – Non-Travel Submissions Due 23 SEP 2022 | Travel Related Funding Due 16 SEP 2022
Medical Corps CME Funding: The end of the Fiscal Year 2022 is approaching. All Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and Non-Travel related Certification Examination funding requests must be submitted to the Navy CME Office by 23 September 2022. Any travel related funding request must be sent to the Navy CME office by 16 September 2022.
In accordance with BUMEDINST 1500.20A, NAVMEDPRODEVCTR will not authorize funding for MOCs or exams taken in prior fiscal years.

2023 AMSUS Annual Meeting
The 2023 Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS) annual meeting is scheduled to be held 13-16 February 2023 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, Washington, D.C. Main Theme of the Annual Meeting: “Healthcare Collaboration: Meeting the Challenges of Today and Tomorrow”.
General Information:
- Registration will be available via the AMSUS website: **15 September.** This includes the hotel room block.
- The Annual Meeting is an in-person only meeting this year, 27.5 CME/CE hours will be available (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE, AANP; and credits when applicable to APA, ACHE, NASW, ADA-CERP).
- Change from the past – the meeting will start on 13 February with the opening ceremony at 1200, allowing for morning plenary sessions.
- Navy breakouts sessions will be:
- 14 FEB at 1500-1600;
- 15 FEB at 1300-1400
- 15 FEB from 1400-1500, and
- 16 FEB from 0800-0900.
- Navy Plenary date and time will be 16 FEB from 0830-0900.
Deadlines:
- For Plenary and Breakout Presentations: Submissions open **6 July** for submission of title, description, learning outcomes (3), and up to four presenters. Submission deadline will be **3 October;** presentation slide decks will be due **12 December.** Submissions must comply with CE requirements.
- Poster Presentations will be 15 FEB from 1100 to 1830 for up to 100 accepted posters. This year there will not be any virtual poster viewing options. Submissions via the platform will open **6 July** for poster abstracts; submissions close **15 October.**
- AMSUS Awards: Nominations through the AMSUS online portal will be accepted from **6 July to 15 October 2022.** Late submissions will not be considered.
- Exhibit booths: sign up for federal agencies start **15 July.**

Virtual Indo-Pacific Military Health Exchange Conference – Must Sign Up By 0800 EST Tomorrow!
The INDOPACIFIC MILITARY HEALTH EXCHANGE (7-10 MAR 2022, 0800-1600 India time), the premiere regional military medical conference in the INDOPACIFIC has opened many more seats since it is now virtual. The kicker is you have to register by 0800 Sunday EST. The link to the form is below. I know you cannot likely attend many of the talks but this gives you access to them for 30 days and you can view them at your convenience. There is a certificate that you can file and attempt to get category 2 CME or your organization’s equivalent.

Event Overview: This Special Feature Webinar describes the detrimental impacts to health care providers of significant career events such as adverse outcomes of care, litigation, adverse licensure actions, deployment, career transition and COVID-19. Evidence-based interventions and recommendations are provided for colleagues, peers and leadership to support providers through these events, and the scrutiny and stress that often accompany them. The educational content has been developed by an internationally recognized subject matter expert in the fields of peer support and health care provider resiliency. The primary focus of this event is to improve the ability of Military Health System (MHS) providers to support their colleagues in an empathetic and productive manner after a significant career stressor; and to ensure that all MHS health care providers have access to a safe, non-judgmental resource that supports emotional, physical and professional well-being after these events.
After this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Recognize effects of adverse events on clinicians.
- Demonstrate skills for providing peer support to colleagues.
- Discuss methods for overcoming barriers (organizational and professional) to peer support.

Spend Your FY20 CME and Board Certification/MOC Money Now!
Due to COVID-induced limitations on travel, the Medical Corps has some remaining FY20 funds to support reimbursement of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) fees, Non-BSO-18 CME fees as well as board certification fees. As these are FY20 funds, the requests for reimbursement must be submitted to the CME funding email address (usn.bethesda.navmedprodevctrmd.mbx.nmpdc-cme-funding@mail.mil) NLT COB 21 SEP 2020 and one must pay the MOC fee/take the exam/attend the CME event NLT 30 SEP.
