Hegseth Delivers ‘State of the Force’ Address, Outlines Series of New Initiatives
BLUF – Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced six initiatives during his State of the Force address: establishing an Autonomous Warfare Command, launching Project Meridian to study future warfare, strengthening installation resilience through Fortress America, developing a new military base, expanding officer commissioning opportunities through America’s Corps of Cadets, and creating an Office of Religious Affairs. For Navy Medicine, these initiatives could influence future medical capabilities through autonomous technologies, more resilient military treatment facilities and medical supply chains, and expanded religious support for service members and their families.
