Posted on Updated on

BLUF – The Navy says USS Theodore Roosevelt’s upcoming deployment will incorporate lessons from USS Abraham Lincoln’s nearly 10-month deployment, including maximizing food and hygiene supplies, converting spaces for additional storage, upgrading fitness and entertainment equipment, and improving communication with families to better withstand disrupted logistics and extended periods at sea. For Navy Medicine, these changes recognize that reliable nutrition, hygiene, physical fitness, morale and family connection are important components of sailor health and operational readiness during prolonged deployments in contested environments.
