‘North Star’ of Defense Health Agency is data-driven to deliver decisive warfighter support, declares director

Posted on Updated on

BLUF – Defense Health Agency Director Vice Adm. Darin Via told emerging military medical leaders that DHA’s “North Star” is becoming a synchronized, data-driven combat support agency that uses better access, artificial intelligence and tools such as the Joint Medical Planning Tool to return injured or ill warfighters to duty faster and prepare for future casualty, evacuation and supply requirements. For Navy Medicine, Via’s plans to expand casualty-receiving capacity and create a Joint Warfighter Health System modeled on the Joint Trauma System for mental health, traumatic brain injury and infectious disease signal a growing emphasis on measurable, continuous improvement tied directly to operational readiness and battlefield outcomes.
