Service Member Compensation More Competitive Than Many Realize, War Department Says
BLUF – The War Department launched a yearlong Military Compensation Educational Campaign to help service members, prospective recruits, and their families better understand the full value of military compensation, emphasizing that total compensation includes not only base pay but also tax advantages, healthcare, housing and food allowances, retirement benefits, education programs, family support services, and special incentive pays that make military service more competitive than many realize. For Navy Medicine, the campaign highlights the importance of educating healthcare professionals and prospective medical recruits about the comprehensive compensation package available through military service, which can strengthen recruitment and retention.
