Sailors and Marines advised to hide military ties on social media, report suspicious activity
BLUF – The Navy is warning sailors, Marines and their families to conceal their military affiliations and patterns of life on social media and report suspicious surveillance, questioning or drone activity amid what Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao described as a coordinated adversary campaign involving intelligence collection, harassment and potential attacks on personnel and installations. For Navy Medicine, the warning reinforces the need for medical personnel and their families to practice operational security both at home and while deployed, particularly because publicly available location and personal data can expose individuals, medical units and patterns of activity that adversaries could exploit.
